The last release crash and work slowling. Hard tested and same problems on more devices (ipad1, ipad3, iphone4s...) I love this app, I hope a solution!

Not user friendly. Very difficult to get songs in. Do not buy

Wonderful to be able to work on laptop, adding songs, editing them, organizing in folders and then (using Dropbox) have them available on my phone and iPad. Love the import feature that magically translates chords and lyrics into Chopra format.

I love this app as Ive used it for gigs, parties, you name it. I have over 500 songs and growing. Also with Dropbox it syncs seamlessly to other devices. But for one hitch, theres an inch high horizontal blank space on the bottom of the entire screen that serves no purpose. On a iPad mini its a waste of screen space and makes usability difficult. Please correct that. Once done, Ill give five stars.

Great app. I really do love this app. Its not perfect but I still do love it. Song book reads text files containing songs in the chord pro format. For those who may not know, the cord pro format is a way to insert cords into lyrics and have a program display them above the lyrics. Just like a lead sheet. They also have apps for PC and Mac if I am not mistaken. Using the dropbox integration is a no-brainer. One can access the files from multiple devices. One can share their folder within drop box that contains their court profiles, with their friends and maintain a synchronized set of files. Editing files within the iPhone app, is OK for a quick touchup, but I wouldnt want to do anything major in there. I use the computer application for that. You can search for particular songs using the app and import them from popular websites. Very handy.

I use Songbook to perform, playing guitar and singing. Input is easy for me, I get songs from Chordie or I input them by getting lyrics off the internet and I input chords manually. Ultimate Guitar website stopped allowing copying chord pro info in, a shame. I usually like to change chords... to my liking and this app allows editing content. I can set the font, size, scrolling and I can transpose easily. I was compelled to write this review immediately after seeing that one person gave a bad rating saying it was difficult to input songs, I disagree, I just input a song in less than a minute, tweeked it and it is ready to play.

For our band it was important to be able to exchange songs within our remote group and with any platform in a non-proprietary format. I use this app now with five bands. I converted our bands list of songs into TXT files, and imported them to SongBook. From Songbook I could easily sync the files into a DropBox folder. Songbook simply places the raw files in Dropbox. We can have the TXT file in Songbook on iPad and that same TXT file shows up in the Songbook folder in DropBox. Nice thing about that is we can edit the songs from any location (iPad or PC) and the Songbook sync process updates to the latest version. There are no background conversions to proprietary formats. We wanted to be able to edit songs on iPad and have those same files available for to edit on PC. SongBook can do that. We tried several other apps and some convert imported songs to proprietary formats or databases making it hard to edit the files on different devices. We also wanted to preserve the portability of the songs down the road, SongBook can do that. Really nice.

Update** Love the new features in 3.9.3 Being able to see categories when in "all songs" view is VERY HELPFUL to me. Also appreciate displaying keys when sharing playlists. Thx! A few reviewers have given this poor reviews which I feel are undeserved. I have used the App for over 3 years both professionally (Im in 2 bands) and personally (I use it at church and home). I have over 2000 songs in my personal collection. I use this app multiple times every day. I have never had the problems described by these new users writing reviews. Many of my songs were originally imported from the internet - but you soon learn to to edit them as theyre often at least partially incorrect. But thats not this apps fault. In one of my bands we are all "power users" of this app. We use features like a shared Dropbox account, links to mp3s, metronome, auto scrolling and we sync all our iPads together on stage so we stay together. Never had a glitch with this app at all. Lots of features are available - it just takes time to learn to use them. I have the app on my iPhone, iPad and I also have the Mac version. I use the iPad for performances - but the other versions allow me the flexibility to add a song anywhere any time. I used to keep all devices song database in sync by emailing songs to myself and opening them in each device - but eventually I got a Dropbox account and that simplified things even more. Again - no problems. Ive never had anything deleted or dropped. Actually you have to go through a 2 step process to delete stuff (unless you trash your Dropbox account). Which you should have backed up anyway. App is well supported by the Dev. Questions get answered within 48 hrs. New releases require you to relink to Dropbox if youre using that feature. Nothing catastrophic if you dont do that immediately though. Your song database continues to exist on each device but it wont sync changes until you relink everything. Dont let uninformed reviews keep you from getting the best app of its type. Get this app and LEARN TO USE IT. You will not regret it

The only thing that really buggs me after the past and recent update is that when I edit a song, I used to grab the whole line or sentence or even a paragraph with two fingers like one in the begining and the other finger at the end at the same time and it would mark it so I could right away choose cut, copy, etc. Now is just like any copy/paste selection on iOS that I have to push to bring the cursor and the select/select all/paste buttons and then select and then move the curson marking all the words I want to edit (like copy a whole chorus to paste below) and then to choose what to do. Why whyyyyyy??? before it was just much faster and easier to select all the words I wanted at once, I used that a lot and saved me bunch of time now it just buggs me, please bring that feature back!

I love this app! I use it for every service. Its synced to my iPhone via Dropbox. I can choose a set list before gigs with my phone and its ready to go when I open my iPad. Priceless! The customization settings are Awesome!

With the new version, 3.9.5, Im having a issue with printing songs. Output will only print cords with a all black background, no text. Love the app except for this one issue.

This app does import music but you need to convert files to plain text, no biggie. But! The files come across randomly messed up. Some import just fine but most import all jumbled and you have to physically manipulate everything by hand. Pain in the a*^!! If this was fixed I would recommend it, but in its current state, I spend more time fixing the poorly imported text files than actually playing music.

This app is great and I would give this app 5 stars, but several features need improvement. 1. I wish I could make categories within categories 2. When I hit the zoom button with the "AA" on it, the bar on the bottom with the zoom options will not go away even if I hit save. I have to either hit edit on top, or go back to categories. I want the zoom bar to go away when I hit save. 3. When I am looking at the list of songs in Categories or within categories, I want to be able to select multiple songs at a time so that I can move them into a category, delete them all, or send them all at the same time!!! Every PDF app has this, why not songbook? 4. I wish there was an UNDO button like in pages. Please fix these features and I will love the app even more and give 5/5!

Works well. Suggestions are to add a page break control to make it easier to control the printout when printing or PDF output is required. A print preview would also be appreciated.

This app has everything! - switch between instruments automatically changes the chord diagrams. I can use it for guitar and ukulele! - change the scale of the song with the touch of a button. Enables you to adapt to the range of your friends singing voices. - scrolling works great! - import songs from chordie works very well! - easy to edit songs - doesnt crash! - link to Dropbox, share the folder with your friends. Allow friends to link their iOS device! - did I mention that you can switch instruments? Sooo cool! I am very demanding when it comes to apps and this one exceeds expectations.

Finally Ive been able to replace my 3 ring binder with an app to keep my song sheets. After 20 years of paper only this app is a great replacement. I now have my library on 2 iPads, my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. I keep all synced via Dropbox, which also means I can easily share tabs with other musicians.

I have had this APP for quite a while and the new changes have improved it tremendously. It is really fast now and no waiting around for songs to load. Thanks for the improvements and I would recommend to anyone. Eddie McCollough

What is with this a

Ive only been using this app for one day and Im already in love with it. This is an extremely well thought out and executed program, and its well worth the purchase price. You wont be disappointed in the versions for your Mac or PC either. Everything synchronizes beautiful using Dropbox. This is one of the most impressive apps Ive seen in a while. Buy it!

Please fix your latest update. Program acting up and crashing!!!!
